Private bartender in Madrid: signature cocktails at your home or event

Imagine your living room, your terrace or the open-plan floor of your office turned, for a few hours, into the Stillroom bar. Glassware that sounds good when you toast, a bartender who asks what you fancy before you have ordered it and a signature cocktail menu designed just for that night. For us, that is what a private bartender in Madrid means: not someone who comes to pour drinks, but an entire cocktail bar that moves into your home.
We are a gastro cocktail bar on Calle Moreto 9, in Los Jerónimos, a short stroll from the Prado Museum and the Retiro. Our way of working fits into a phrase we often repeat: “The Art of the Invisible”. What matters most happens before anyone sees it, in the preparation, in the ferments, in the cordials that have been resting for days. And when we take the bar out and about, that is exactly what we bring.
Why does it matter? Because when you search for a bartender at home, you usually end up filling in forms on platforms that share your request among strangers. With us, you know from the start who will be behind the bar: the same team you can meet any day at our venue.
What does a professional private bartender include?
Our mobile cocktail bar service is called La Barra, and we have designed it so that you have nothing to think about except your guests. It includes:
- A complete portable bar, which we set up in your space.
- A senior bartender from our team, with the same standards as the Moreto 9 venue.
- Premium glassware, because a good cocktail is also about the glass in your hand.
- A signature cocktail menu tailored to the event, which we define together with you.
Behind that menu is the house’s technical repertoire: ferments, clarifications, house-made cordials and fat washing. These are not words to impress in a proposal; they are the foundation of what we serve every day and what gives a cocktail layers, texture and a long finish.

Barman, bartender or mixologist: is there a difference?
In practice, we are talking about the same trade with different words. “Barman” is the most widespread term in Spain; “bartender” has become popular with contemporary cocktail culture, and “mixologist” is how many people search for it when what they want is someone who designs and prepares cocktails, not just someone who serves drinks. What really makes the difference is not the name, but the judgement: knowing how to build a menu, balance a cocktail and read the rhythm of an event.
What a serious service should always include
Beyond our own case, if you are comparing options, any proposal should make a few basics clear:
- Who will be behind the bar and what experience they have.
- Which menu will be served, with specific cocktails and not a generic “assorted cocktails”.
- What equipment the supplier provides and what is expected of your space.
- Non-alcoholic options that measure up, not a last-minute add-on.
- A quote that explains what it includes and what the final price depends on.

Cocktail bar hire at home for every occasion
A cocktail bar at home does not work the same way at a birthday as at a product launch. That is why every menu and every set-up is designed for the type of event. We serve birthdays and private parties, private dinners at home, corporate and office events, weddings, product launches, rooftops and terraces, and cultural events.
Birthdays and private parties
Booking a private bartender for a birthday is one of the requests we receive most, and we understand why: the person celebrating wants to enjoy themselves, not spend the night in the kitchen opening bottles. We can design a cocktail named after the guest of honour, adapt the menu to their favourite flavours or create a welcome serve for when the guests arrive. Whether you are looking for a cocktail bar at home for 30 people or a larger celebration, we look at it with you case by case. You will find more ideas on our page about private parties in Madrid.
Private dinners at home
Some nights call for something more intimate: a dinner with friends, an anniversary, a table of special clients. Here the bar becomes the thread running through the evening, with an aperitif to open, cocktails that accompany the meal and something to close the night. If you are thinking about this format, take a look at our luxury private dinner in Madrid proposal.
Offices and companies
An after-work drink, the close of a quarter, the welcome of a new team or a presentation to clients. In a corporate setting, signature cocktails change the tone of an event: they make it warmer without losing elegance. We explain how we approach these commissions in our guide to catering for corporate events in Madrid.
Weddings
At a wedding, the bar is a meeting point. It is where the ice is broken between the two families, where toasts are made and where the party goes on. We can create signature cocktails for the couple and adjust the menu to each moment of the day. You will find all the details in our cocktail bar for weddings in Madrid.
Terraces, rooftops, launches and cultural events
Madrid has few things as quintessentially its own as a terrace at dusk. We take the bar to rooftop terraces and courtyards, and also to product launches, inaugurations and cultural events, where cocktails help tell a story. In these cases, the menu can speak to the brand, the work or the reason for the gathering: a colour, an ingredient, an idea that the guest recognises in the glass. It is the part of the job we enjoy most, because it forces us to think each cocktail from scratch.
More than cocktails: the gastro layer that sets us apart
We are a gastro cocktail bar, and that travels too. To La Barra you can add a food layer that turns the service into something much more complete:
- The Iberian Trolley: Iberian loin, salchichón, chorizo and ham, served from a trolley among the guests.
- The Cheese Trolley: aged Manchego, Torta del Casar, smoked Idiazábal and Galician Tetilla.
- Master Ham Carver: a whole leg and a certified carver who works live in front of the guests.
Carving ham live has something of a ceremony about it. People come over, watch, ask questions, and suddenly the event has a natural centre. Combined with a signature cocktail bar, it creates that feeling that everything has been looked after without anyone noticing the effort.

How much does a private bartender cost in Madrid
It is the obvious question, and we prefer to answer it clearly. We work with three formulas, and these are their indicative starting prices:
| Formula | What it includes | Indicative price |
|---|---|---|
| Essential Formula | La Barra | From €950 flat + from €18/person |
| Gastro Formula | La Barra + one trolley | From €950 flat + from €30/person |
| Stillroom Formula | Everything + Master Ham Carver | Bespoke quote |
Important: these are indicative prices, excluding VAT. The final quote is confirmed after the briefing, because it depends on the number of guests, the duration of the service, the space and the date.
The logic is simple: the fixed part covers the service and the team, and the per-person part is adjusted to the size of your event. If you would like to understand in more detail what each item depends on, we explain it in how much cocktail catering costs in Madrid.
How it works, step by step
We wanted booking our private bartender service to be as easy as ordering a drink at the bar:
- You tell us about your event. You fill in the form on our catering page with the details: type of celebration, date, approximate number of guests and space.
- We send you a proposal within 48 hours. With an indicative quote and the formula that best fits what you have told us.
- We hold a joint briefing. We go over the space and the timing of the event, and personalise the cocktail menu with you.
- On the day of the event, we take care of everything. You welcome your guests; we make the bar work.
Areas we cover
Our home is in Los Jerónimos, and from there we take the bar all across the city. We have dedicated pages for the neighbourhoods where we work most: Salamanca, Retiro, Chamberí and Madrid Centro. Beyond the M-30 we are also regulars — from Pozuelo to La Moraleja — and travel within the Community of Madrid is included.
A cocktail bar with a name, not a blind quote
There is a fundamental difference between requesting quotes on a platform and booking a cocktail bar. In the first case, your request travels to suppliers you do not know and you choose almost blindly, comparing figures without really knowing what lies behind them. In the second, you can come and see us before deciding: sit at our bar on Moreto 9, try what we do and meet the team we work with.
That is the peace of mind we want to offer. Behind every service at your home there is an open venue, a brand we look after and a team that stakes its reputation on every cocktail. We do not sell a generic open bar or hand out bottled cocktails: we bring an in-person signature cocktail service, with bartenders who know what they are doing and a menu built for your occasion.
If you are thinking about a birthday, a dinner at home, a company event or a wedding, tell us about it. We would love to imagine with you what your night could be like and to bring a little of what happens every day at Stillroom to your home.
Frequently asked questions
What does Stillroom’s private bartender service include?
Our service is called La Barra and includes a complete portable bar, a senior bartender from our team, premium glassware and a signature cocktail menu tailored to your event. It is the same team and the same standards you will find at our venue on Calle Moreto 9. If you would like to add a food layer, you can add the Iberian Trolley, the Cheese Trolley or a Master Ham Carver. All the details are on our catering page.
How much does a private bartender cost in Madrid?
As an indicative guide, the Essential Formula (La Barra) starts from €950 flat plus from €18 per person, and the Gastro Formula (the bar plus one trolley) starts from €950 flat plus from €30 per person. The Stillroom Formula, with everything including the Master Ham Carver, is quoted bespoke. These are indicative prices, excluding VAT: the final quote is confirmed after the briefing. You will find the breakdown in how much cocktail catering costs.
Is there a minimum number of guests to book the service?
La Barra starts from an indicative minimum of 30 guests and 3 hours of service, and the Iberian and cheese trolleys from 25 guests. If your event is more intimate, tell us anyway: we look at each case individually. Tell us in the form how many people you are expecting, the duration and the space, and we will send you a proposal with an indicative quote within 48 hours.
Do I need to have anything ready at home for the bartender?
You do not need to buy anything: we bring the portable bar, the glassware and everything needed for the cocktail menu. What we do is hold a joint briefing before the event to get to know your space, the timing of the night and how you would like to personalise the menu. With that information we adapt the set-up to your living room, your terrace or your office, and on the day of the event we take care of everything.
Do you serve non-alcoholic cocktails with the private bartender service?
Yes, and with the same care as the rest. The house repertoire includes ferments and house-made cordials that allow us to build non-alcoholic cocktails with depth and personality, not simply decorated juices. In the briefing we agree how many non-alcoholic options you would like on the menu for your event. You can see our alcohol-free section in the cocktail menu at our venue.
Do you take the service outside Madrid city?
Yes: we work throughout the Community of Madrid with travel included. In the capital we have dedicated pages for Salamanca, Retiro, Chamberí and Madrid Centro, and beyond the M-30 we often work in areas such as Pozuelo and La Moraleja. Tell us the location in the form and we will prepare the proposal for your venue.
